All the Accessories You Need

More than 114 million Nintendo Switch JoyCons systems have been sold throughout the globe, making it one of the best-selling gaming devices of all time despite being over six years old. The Switch is a portable console, therefore in addition to the standard attachments like controllers, headphones, and MicroSD cards for expansion, there is a large array of travel accessories available. Popular titles, including Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are Switch exclusives.

Accessories may be used with all three Switch models: the original, the Switch OLED, and the Switch Lite, which is designed only for use in portable mode. External accessories, such as cases and screen protectors, may only suit one version of the Switch. However, all three versions are compatible with the same controllers and MicroSD cards. We've compiled a list of must-have Nintendo Switch JoyCons accessories with all three versions in mind, but if a certain item is incompatible with the Switch Lite or OLED, we'll make that clear.

Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

The official Nintendo Pro Controller costs more than other options for professional gamepads, but it offers a number of benefits. The Pro Controller is compatible with Nintendo's Amiibo trinkets and the Switch's improved HD rumble capability, among other features, including USB-C compatibility and long battery life.

Power Dock for Nintendo Switch Joy-Con and Pro Controller

For those who have more than one Pro Controller or a supplementary set of Nintendo Switch JoyCons, a spare charging port might come in handy. PowerA's Switch controller dock can charge three controllers at once, including a pair of Joy-Cons and a Pro Controller, and its LED lights indicate when charging is complete.

Ugreen Ethernet Adapter

The original Switch does not include an Ethernet connector for wired internet on its dock, so keep that in mind if you want to play online. Connecting your Switch directly to your network through ethernet with this USB LAN adaptor will result in far faster downloads and more stable online gaming. Since an Ethernet connector is already included with the Switch OLED dock, there is no need to purchase this add-on.

Protect your screen with the AmFilm Tempered Glass.

A protector for a screen needs a little introduction. The touchscreen on any Nintendo Switch JoyCons model is easily damaged by dirt and grime, so protecting it with a screen protector is recommended if you want to take it with you or give it to a youngster for usage on the go.

Anker Powercore 13400 Power Bank

The Switch logo is prominently displayed on one side of the Anker power bank, and it boasts the USB-C Power Delivery (PD) fast charging speed necessary to function with the Switch, providing up to 10 more hours of playtime. While there may be cheaper options, you won't find a power bank that supports PD rapid charging.

Carrying Case for the Nintendo RDS and Switch

RDS Industries is authorised by Nintendo to produce Switch covers with authentic Nintendo Switch JoyCons game artwork. Smaller travel covers with Super Mario, Pokémon, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda artwork are now available, in addition to a premium case for the Switch Lite.
